- 1 cable needle to hold stitches when cabling
- 1 yarn needle for weaving in ends
- Smooth waste yarn for provisional cast on
Gauge in 4" / 10 cm
- Stockinette, unwashed
: 22 sts and 33 rows
- Wildfire, washed and stretched
: 18 sts and 36 rows
- Blaze, washed and stretched
: 18 sts and 30 rows
To produce raised cables and an open lace.

Construction & Schematic
Construction
This shawl utilizes a garter tab cast on and is worked from the top down.
Shaping increases are placed twice on right side rows and four times on wrong side rows resulting in a crescent shape.
A reverse garter stitch section at the top and bottom of the lace border visually separates the lace from the cable section.
A Russian bind off is used on the wrong side to result in a clean reverse garter edge.
